My 7 year old poochie was diagnosed with diabetes 4 weeks ago after exhibiting some of the symptoms you mentioned. And this was only two months after his routine bloodwork was run. Things can definitely pop up out of nowhere, so it's worth keeping an eye on and having your vet check it out. Unfortunately the symptoms might also be from some tainted food, so either way a check-up with the vet sounds like a good idea. Good luck! When discussing my cats symptoms with a colleague at work I discovered that I am not alone when it comes to similar symptoms. Excessive urination, weight loss even though eating more than usual, lethargic, he doesn't bother to cover his excretions at all as it appears he just doesn't have the energy and is now urinating wherever he happens to be. My cat is 13 and at first I attributed this to his age only to speak to others whose pets are behaving in a similar manner. The list of tainted pet foods is overwhelming making it so difficult to determine what to purchase to feed him. I am afraid that my dear cat has been poisoned by one of these tainted products.
